Director's Notes:
It was quite a hard movie to make since we couldn’t use anything on the internet but luckily we bought some royalty free music. Also we only found out about the competition about a week before the deadline so that was a problem but luckily our hard work payed off and we done it in time. if we were to redo it i think we would add more information and consquently make it longer.
SciCast Notes:
Well, this is different.
The team have made good use of an off-the-shelf disc of effects and backgrounds, and have done a sterling job weaving them together into an animation. If you have the right tools, building this sort of thing can be relatively quick and painless — but you have to know what you’re doing first, so it’s not necessarily the easy way out. The other problem is: do the snazzy visuals really add anything to what’s, in essence, a Powerpoint presentation?
Well, yes, I think they do. It may only be novelty value, but you can’t deny that this film is eye-catching. It’s also — perhaps surprisingly — tasteful. These aren’t tacky video effects, they’re high-quality motion graphics, and the they’ve been put together well.
One word of criticism, however — check your spelling! Sheesh! :-)
