The paths of invisible particles rendered visible before your very eyes.

Director's Notes:

The Hobbs Girls write:

Demo of the diffusion cloud chamber, by Rachel Hobbs, physics technician from Ardingly College. I was ably assisted by my 14 year-old daughter.

Nominee, Gratnells’ Best Film from a Science Technician, 2010

SciCast Notes:

This is great. A good solid demo, shown and explained clearly; simple and effective. It’s a shame the close-up of the condensation tracks is blurry, and I’ve tried to clean up the buzz on the sound without success, but these are technical limitations of the camera gear — nothing serious.

I like this a lot. Also, a film from both a family and a technician — double bonus!

Lovely.
