Laboratory safety, SciCast-style.
Director's Notes:
The Sidcot Science Inspectors write:
The idea for the film is to make an entertaining presentation which could be used when teachers are discussing the lab safety rules with pupils. By viewing the film it should be possible to spot unsafe activities. We started by talking about what should be included in the film and then filmed it at lunchtimes and in one lesson using the class as extras.
The film was made by seven year 7 students, with one teacher, and about another 18 students involved in the filming.
Nominee: Flipside Most Entertaining Film, 2010
SciCast Notes:
I love this. Really, really love it.
We don’t have many films that take a step back like this and start from thinking about what would be useful. So this is a tremendously valuable addition to the catalogue, and I hope it’s of value in schools across the country — I think it will be. But it’s also been put together very well indeed, and best of all the team have clearly had a huge giggle making it.
Wonderful stuff. And I’m sure you are good really.
