How to model digestion using students and some simple props.
Director's Notes:
Says Mr. McMinn of Helston School:
I let the Year 9 students spend one hour planning this modeling activity. They are a very creative bunch and eager to act. Then one hour to film it, it was great fun and cost nothing.
SciCast Notes:
Coordinating this number of people is never straightforward, and to have done it in such a short space of time is remarkable. Lots of coordination and teamwork involved, I’m guessing. That, or somebody bossing everyone else around.
It’s also a relief that we can hear what’s being said — note the little tieclip microphone being worn by one of the performers. Those things are cheap, and as long as you have a camera with a microphone input, they’re all you need to capture dialogue of this sort of quality. See what a difference it makes?
Beyond that, it’s rather hard for me to comment. I’m so mesmerised by the odd socks, you see. How long do you think they spent discussing whether they should be odd the same way around, or opposite?
