A simple and brilliant way of viewing rich soap bubble colours.

Director's Notes:

Getting the camera in the right position to film this was tricky — we had to brace the tripod with stools and tape to stop it falling over, and be careful not to knock anything, since each bubble lasted for four or five minutes.

Worth the hassle, though: the results are beautiful!

SciCast Notes:

This is a deceptively simple film. There are only three shots, but the team took exactly the right approach. They worked hard to get the crucial shot, of soap bubble colours draining down, even though doing so took most of the time available. The explanation at the beginning and the cute little ending were filmed in a flurry afterwards.

Great team-work, excellent patience and planning, and some beautiful shots of bubbles.
