A song accompanies Lego minifigs exploring the electromagnetic spectrum.

Director's Notes:

We go through each stage of the ‘EM Spectrum’ and give some of their qualities and uses for each. We decided to take part because it seemed exciting and helped us learn the EM Spectrum.

Nominee: IOP Best SciCast Physics Film (16+), 2010

SciCast Notes:

Hurray for Lego minifig animations! I love ‘em, especially when they’re as well-done as this. You can tell from the poster frame (the picture that shows up before you press ‘play’ on the movie) how carefully put-together this is, and it’s lovely. OK, so it goes incomprehensibly weird towards the end, but I think that’s a rule of SciCast. Hang on, let me check…

  1. No longer than 2½ minutes — check
  2. Broadly about science stuff — check
  3. Not boring — check
  4. All your own work — check
  5. Goes a bit nuts at the end — check

Yup, those are the rules. That’s OK, then.

Love it.
