SciCast Notes:

Winner: Best Film by a Team which includes Primary School Students, 2008

Aw, this is sweet. I love the costumes, and I’m particularly fond of the idea that it takes longer for the Earth to orbit the sun on a leap year.

It’s quite a complex film, actually, with a neat little introduction and then the ‘location report’, which involves a huge cast, costumes, and fantastic props.

The schools tell me that the graphics elements came with their camera, by the way — it’s often worth poking around on freebie discs to see if there’s anything usable. The licenses can be restrictive, but in this case it looks like you can do with the clips whatever you wish. Great!
